In my topaz dream,
a warm neon glow falls through the window onto the bed in your apartment.
Sometimes I'm in it, but more often, I'm pacing, waiting for you.
In the light, everything has a soft, silky sheen.
I can't see the light source just as I can't see the bay that your place faces.
I caught a glimpse of it while in transit. Its size made me anxious.
Sometimes I leave your apartment and go to the bar where we met.
I look for you under the tap.
On the walk there, it's often night, always cloudy, and either just before or right after it rains.
I can see the water for a few blocks, and sometimes, the lights of boats in the distance.
